Educational Round
Table: High School, College and Specialty Equine Programs and Schools
Are you
considering an equine career? Are you looking for a college
with an equine program? Then you won't want to miss
this year's Extravaganzas! A very popular component of events
is the College Round Table, bringing together equine
college programs and specialty schools with potential students,
giving young persons the opportunity to explore the vast variety
of equine opportunities available to them. Hosted and moderated
by Angelia Almos, author of Horse Schools, the Round
Table will be held o in the seminar hall. After the round
table, participants are encouraged to visit each college or
specialty school's booth for more information. In
addition, you can attend Angelia's presentations
which cover some of the 250
possible career opportunities available in the horse industry;
what the education and horse knowledge requirements are for
various careers; what the salary and benefits averages are; how
to learn more about possible careers; and how to prepare
yourself for your chosen career.
She will also cover what a horse school is, the
difference between a traditional and specialty education, areas
of study, types of careers, deciding whether you really want a
career in horses, combining a traditional and specialty
education, making your own education, financial concerns and
equine scholarships, intercollegiate and varsity competition,
and how to evaluate schools.
