The Meadow Event Park

Big changes are on the horizon for the Equine Extravaganza!

We're thrilled to announce that Equine Extravaganza is making the much anticipated move to the newly completed Meadow Event Park, new home to the State Fair of Virginia!  We appreciate our five fabulous years at Richmond Raceway, however the move to a facility that is designed for horses and horse people was not only logical, but beneficial to our attendees and horse participants, as well.  This move represents a wide variety of benefits including a convenient location and a horse-friendly property with permanent barns and plenty of wide open spaces.

In our support of this much needed horse facility we have chosen to make this move to the Meadow now, even though the planned spectacular indoor arena has not yet been completed.  We will all have to adapt for the first year or two until the indoor is completed, but it is very important to us to give this facility our support as they to work be an even better destination for the Virginia horse industry.

What does this mean to our attendees?

A beautiful, brand new facility, a great location and a fabulous, horse-friendly environment, including permanent barns, making it possible to offer our breed organizations and stallion owners better accommodations as well as more affordable pricing and more space.

Below are a few changes that we want you to know about so you can plan your attendance for the best possible results:

Some clinics and demonstrations will be held in outdoor arenas, RAIN OR SHINE, so please check the weather and if rain is in the forecast, come prepared with appropriate rain gear.  Slickers are preferable to umbrellas for the safety of attendees and horses. If you do use an umbrella, please do not use in heavy wind or around  horses or arenas.

  1. Walk or Tram? Due to the layout of the facility there is some distance between parking, the barn and adjacent arenas and the exhibit areas.  It is a beautiful and quick walk, however we will provide trams for those who choose not to walk.

  2. PARKING: FREE AND PREMIUM
    • As always, we offer FREE PARKING, which will be in Lot C
    • We will also offer a limited amount of premium parking in LOT f for an additional fee of $5.00 per vehicle for those who wish to park closer to the exhibit hall.
    • Free Parking is available in Lot C.  Enter through Gate 6 On Meadow Farm Road.
    • Premium Parking is available in Lot F. Enter through Gate 2 IF YOU CHOOSE PREMIUM PARKING WE SUGGEST PURCHASING BOTH YOUR TICKETS AND PARKING PASS ONLINE TO AVOID LINES AND ACCESS THE EXPRESS LANE.
    • We accept cash only at the gate, as always.

  3. TICKETS:
    • CASH ONLY AT THE TICKET BOOTHS
    • Ticket booths are located on the circle near Meadow Farm Road and Horseman's Alley near the barn.  Please have exact change if possible.
    • $15 for adults and $5 for children (yes, reduced by $3 from previous years!), Under 5 FREE
    • Tickets include all exhibits, clinics and demonstrations.
    • Purchasing your tickets in advance will help you avoid ticket lines.

  4. Clinics :
    • Demonstrations will be held in the large arena in the tent next to the Farm Bureau Center (exhibit hall), a round pen in the Meadow Pavilion, a seminar room in the Union Bank and Trust Mansion and several large outdoor UNCOVERED arenas next to the Breed and Stallion Barns (Barns).
    • The clinics held in the outdoor arena will be held RAIN OR SHINE, so if rain is predicted, come prepared.

  5. Walking between Exhibits and Barns
    • The exhibit hall and the barns are on opposite sides of the road, with easy walking access through the under-road-tunnel.  It is a short and beautiful walk, however we will have trams running for your convenience.

Remember, everyone loves progress, it's the change they find difficult.  Thank you in advance for your patience as we progress and make changes to accommodate our attendees in our new location!
